Job Title: Design Engineer

Description:

This new role is within a team who design AV cables and accessories for the wordwide consumer electronics market. Reporting to the Senior Designer the role will involve design work, preparation of documents and direct communication with Far Eastern suppliers and their sub-contractors.

Skills Required:

We require an engineering graduate who is fluent in spoken and written English and Cantonese or Mandarin. We would like to see some evidence of UK based industry experience in a design environment. Knowledge of 3D CAD software, preferably SolidWorks is required, as is an understanding of production processes and design for manufacture techniques.

The ideal candidate will be dynamic and self-motivated with a positive attitude and the ability to work within a team. Excellent communication and presentation skills and attention to detail are essential

The Opportunity:

This is an immediate opportunity for a recent graduate fluent in English and Cantonese or Mandarin who wishes to start their career in the UK. You will be working within a dynamic design team where you will be able to learn from your colleagues and be exposed to many facets of technical, commercial and operational activities.

There will be requirement to travel to Hong Kong, China and Taiwan.

Job Title: R&D Technician

Salary: Competitive

Location: Surrey, UK

Description:

This role is within the R&D team who design a variety of premium AV cables and consumer electronic devices. Reporting to one of our Development Engineers the role will involve supporting all team members, primarily in building and testing prototypes and products. However, we undertake a wide range of projects so we are looking for an all-rounder who is happy to tackle any job assigned to them - simple or difficult.

Skills Required:

  • Ability to read and interpret technical data including circuit diagrams, engineering drawings and technical publications
  • Understanding of analogue and digital circuits electronic control circuits and feedback systems
  • Soldering and building PCBS and effective use relevant test equipment
  • Recording of results in an accurate manner and precise reporting of associated findings
  • Working precisely and neatly in wood, metal and plastics
  • Confident using Microsoft Office products
  • Able to distinguish between colours
  • Current driving licence.

The ideal candidate is likely to have an HND, HNC or equivalent in electronics can work well in a team and is not fazed by having to tackle new and varied tasks.

Job Title: Quality Manager

The Opportunity:

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced, self motivated individual to ensure Armour Home continues to deliver award winning products and services.

Duties:

Ensure legal compliance and produce the necessary reports for Government agencies in line with the following legislation;

  • Waste Packaging Regulations
  • Waste Electrical & Electronic Equipment Regulations (WEEE) Waste battery & Accumulators Regulations
  • Carbon Reduction Commitment (CRC) legislation

Research and advise interested parties on other forms of legislation as required. Advise on import duty tariff commodity codes for new and existing products. Research and evaluate potential new suppliers and produce reports accordingly. Assess any field / customer failures and take action to contain and prevent further failures through well planned, communicated and implemented corrective and preventive actions. Work with warranty service technicians and technical support help desk to feed back design issues for implementation in future products Produce monthly reports on activities of the department. Effectively manage the tasks and workload of the department

Skills Required:

  • Must be fully conversant in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint.
  • Quality systems auditing skills
  • Ability to find appropriate solutions to complex and sometimes costly problems in a timely manner.
  • Clear communication to multilevel audience.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing and production techniques and how to build quality into the product.
