New iPod product compatibility

Apple has released a new range of iPods over the past few days that have implemented a new charging method via USB rather than Firewire. At this stage we are unsure of exactly how this effects our product range of iPod docks from iPort, Soundcast, NAD, Tivoli and others but are investigating.

We suspect the change will have the same effect as the same change did in the iPhone 3G when released some weeks ago. The result was that the iPhone 3G did not charge as expected when docked. They will continue to work as expected but not charge. Should this be the case Armour and our partner suppliers will work to solve the issue as soon as possible. This information will be updated in the next technical bulletin release due later in September when testing will have been completed.
