New 4.2 release of System Net Configuration
Systemline Modular Advanced
has now been enhanced to include integration with
iPort®, a unique in wall or free standing
docking station for Apple Ipod®, also available
from Armour Home Electronics. You must use an RS232 enabled iPort®, the 4 or 5 series versions have this fitted as standard. These come with a pre-made RS232 serial cable that can be plugged into one of the programmable serial ports on the System Net Hub. We have done all the hard work for you so buttons, progress bar, music selections with artist, album, and playlist displays will all happen once you have configured a source as iPort®.
Please follow the link below to download this as well as the new instructions. Please make sure you upgrade the firmware to all keypads and hubs when you wish to use this, the hub.bin and keypad.bin, and lc_firmware.bin firmware files are included in the download. You use the Upload section within the Local Hub Network part and browse to the three firmware files, the software will update all keypads connected one by one. Please read the ‘read me’ file and iPort® integration instructions for any known issues when released and further connection information.
For your reference following this release please find a downloadable version of the brochure for the In Wall iPort products below:

IR Control of iPort through Systemline Modular
There is a small issue of
controlling iPort® systems through Systemline
Modular when using the 3.5mm IR jack on the
iPort® break out box. The connection does not
work using a single source hub, MIM, CIM, or IRM.
Only a multi source hub (AM8) can be used and you
must make a mono 3.5mm jack to jack connection
between the hub itself and the iPort®.We will keep you informed of any changes.

IR Control Lutron Grafik-eye using Systemline Advanced Touch panels
The technical support team
have done some research into IR control of multiple
Grafik-eye systems through Systemline Modular
Advanced touch panels. Systemline Modular uses a
common IR bus through the Hub, so it is not possible
to control different Grafik-eye units independently
if you place IR emitters from the Hub, MIM or CIM.
We now suggest you use a GRX-IRI unit at £78.73
retail, which is able to receive the advanced range
of Grafik-eye remote codes. These codes are specific
to one of the eight addresses available on
Grafik-eye and allow independent control through
only one IR receiver. They also give you the ability
to raise or lower any of the circuits on the unit as
well as store a new scene (3500 series only). Below
is a wiring diagram of how it fits in as well as a
link to supportive files that contain the advanced
code set in Hex, Nevo and Pronto format. -
New Generic device on Nevo Studio
To create a generic device that you can customise with your own IR or HEX codes first ‘Add Device’ and choose the ‘Enter device code’ type in O9999 (O being the letter) This will give you a device called ‘Generic Device’ which you can rename and then create as many other generic devices as you like.

Wireless NevoSL
-
Check list
We have developed a simple check list to ensure you have applied the optimum settings for your wireless network. Attached is a step by step list that you should carry with you when setting up wireless networks with the NevoSL.
-
Wireless drop outs
Lastly with regard to
NevoSL we wanted to include the fact that when
power is lost to a router or an access point and
the NevoSL has lost it’s network it will
attempt to reconnect, but will give up after a
number of minutes. While the Nevo is trying to
reconnect you have no functionality and the only
indication of what is going on is that of the
animated house. In previous releases of the
firmware Nevo kept on trying to connect until
successful which resulted in what appeared to be
a locked up as no other functionality was
allowed. In the current release after giving up
reconnection you are returned to local IR
control, but once the router is returned to
normal operation a reconnection can be invoked
by pressing and holding the back light button
for a few seconds until the screen can be seen
to go blank (off, NOT dark with the graphics
visible in the background). With the NevoSL
(screen off) in this state a brief press of the
backlight button will return the screen to on
and will attempt to re-negotiate a Wi-Fi
connection (animated house will be viewed and
the Wi-Fi icon will have animated blue signal
bars). The connection should establish itself
between 5 – 15 secs depending on the
network infrastructure. The aforementioned
method is preferred to that of the hard power
cycle which in some cases where the Wi-Fi or
electrical supply is flakey can take place
numerous time per week and result in a broken
on/off power switch.

Minimum and maximum distances for Themescene Projectors
In order to check that you have a valid distance between your Themescene projector and your screen, we have completed a simple table for you. Attached is a spread sheet that gives you the information for all the sizes and models.

NAD Products, Tips and service
NAD products are on the whole
extremely reliable and suit themselves both to the
Custom Installer as well as the traditional HiFi
Retailer. With this in mind, NAD employs a few
useful features that occasionally catch out the
unwary. First of all, the pre-amp links which allow
upgrades and use of NAD power amps. These are
external and can be seen clearly at the rear of the
units. Please do not remove these if you are not
planning to use external amplification – as
the unit will not produce any volume without these
in place. Secondly – the Vacation switch. This
is the main power on/off which is located at the
rear of some models.(and becoming more common ) This
is normally black in colour, and obviously, if
it’s not engaged the unit appears to be dead
out of the box. – It will work however if the
switch is on !! If you do experience any problems
with NAD products, your first call should be to the
service department in Woking – on 01483 545
