NAD has introduced the NAD IPD-1, an iPod accessory designed to enhance the NAD home entertainment experience. The new IPD-1 Dock is an easy, convenient way to enjoy music and, additionally, you can enjoy video from your fifth generation iPod (with video) on your NAD system. The attractive black-and-white dock features a weighted base with a rubber foot to provide a stable platform.
Audio playback on the high-performance NAD systems is exceptional. The convenience of controlling an iPod while viewing song titles on a big, bright TV, navigated with an NAD remote, enhances the iPod experience and makes music-sharing more enjoyable than ever.
In addition to serving as a convenient, stable home base for an iPod, the NAD IPD-1 sends stereo audio signals via gold-plated RCA jacks to other NAD components. It sends video signals via an S-Video cable from an iPod with video to an NAD system or TV. In addition, it charges the iPod battery.
The IPD-1 lets owners control their iPod using the NAD remote control, and display the iPod's music library on a TV using NAD's On Screen Display function on their TV sets or other displays. This particular function is limited to select NAD components that have a special IPD-1 Dock Port on their rear-panel. At present, these include NAD's new T 785, T 775, T 765 and T 755 A/V Receivers, and T 175 Preamp-Tuner-Processor. However, NAD plans to include the Dock Port on additional models in the future.
The connection panel at the rear of the IPD-1 Dock includes outputs for S-Video, right and left audio, data, and power. The IPD-1 comes with a one-meter connection cable, which users may optionally replace with an audiophile cable of their choosing for maximum performance. Also included is a universal-type compact charging module that works with any AC voltage from 100V to 240V, and four regional adaptor plugs for the different electrical systems found in North America, Europe, the U.K., and Australia.
The NAD IPD-1 Dock will be at The Sound & Vision Show, Bristol (see details below)
NAD's new IPD-1 Dock is available now at a suggested recommended retail price of £70.00 (including VAT).
