Systemline MusicServer - New Firmware release

Armour Home is pleased to announce the release of a firmware update for the Systemline Musicserver (SMS3/160). This feature enhancing new release, entitled 'version 040126', is issued free to the trade and can be uploaded to previously installed servers, via CD-ROM, from early February. It will be introduced into newly manufactured products from March 2008.

Armour is especially pleased to report the new release has been formulated largely as a result of feedback from our installer base. This is further confirmation of both the closeness of our partnership with our dealers and the effectiveness of our continuous improvement program.

The new features for the server include:

  • Full subscription to 'AMG' to provide a more extensive list of online metadata content for the audio CD's recorded to the SMS3/160.
  • Full release of the 'cover art' capability of the SMS3/160 including automatic download and display on the video GUI.
  • Identify after RIP, allows the server to update metadata later, even if there was no internet connection present at the time of recording.
  • Add current item to playlist, allows the user to place a track into a current playlist while listening to it.
  • Network Backup is introduced so the consumer or installer can provide an archiving facility to either a USB or network attached hard drive of the server media contents.
  • The internal clock within the musicserver will now automatically update via the internet.
  • We have introduced a screen saver to save plasma televisions from screen burn. The screen saver will appear as a Systemline logo after a definable period of inactivity with the SMS.

There are also 52 other technical improvements to the SMS3 which have been identified within the server by our own technical teams and/or changes requested by the installation market. A full list of these fixes is available from the technical support team. Available: 1st Week February 2008.
