PSB Speakers, the Canadian manufacturer long renowned for its affordable high-performance loudspeakers, has introduced the new Alpha B1 Stand Mount/Bookshelf/Surround loudspeaker to the UK - and these outstanding Award Winning speakers are now available from UK Distributor Armour Home Electronics' growing number of PSB specialist retailers at just £100 per pair.
According to PSB founder and chief designer Paul Barton, "The whole idea of the Alpha B1 is to provide performance far beyond what you expect at the price. Not only do these budget loudspeakers fill the room with great sound, they offer tremendous definition and musical accuracy for speakers this size."
The new contoured cabinets provide the Alpha B1 with a broader appeal and a softer visual statement. However, it is not just about aesthetics. The new shape contributes to the overall improved performance. The shaped profile enhances dispersion and diminishes unwanted sonic diffractions, contributing to an overall flatter response. The PSB Alpha B1s are built with high quality MDF (45 lbs. per sq. foot) and come with a new ¾-inch aluminium dome tweeter with improved frequency response. The tweeter is equipped with an exclusive phase device and proprietary technology that provides response exceeding 21 kHz. The additional high frequency bandwidth provides the new Alpha B1 models with a distinct smoothness through the audible 20 kHz range.
The completely redesigned woofers improve bass performance delivering surprisingly low-end extension. This is due to the deeper basket structure and a rigid composite chassis that improves magnet efficiency, resulting in deeper bass response. In short - the new Alpha B1 qualifies as one of the world's performance/value champions!
The Alpha B1s are available in two wood-grain finishes - Maple with light grey grilles and Black Ash with black grilles.
