QED, the UK’s leading producer of specialist hi-fi and home cinema cables for more than three decades, is pleased to announce it has completely upgraded its award-winning ‘Performance’ range of HDMI cables.
QED is a brand of Armour Home. Phil Davis, their category manager responsible for QED, stated: “QED was one the first specialist manufacturers to produce HDMI cables and the worldwide success we continue to enjoy with our original ‘HDMI-P’ range is a testament to our design team’s unsurpassed knowledge of the subject. So when we asked the team to make our HDMI cables even better, I confess we were surprised when they told us it would be easy -- simply improve every aspect of the current model. Naturally, we told them to go ahead.”
Mr Davis continued: “Needless to say, our faith in QED’s designers was fully justified. The ‘New Performance HDMI’ cable is clearly a major improvement over the previous award-winning model and sets completely new standards for value, its price being unchanged from the original.”
Improvements to the new cable include thicker 99.999% pure Oxygen Free Copper conductors, increased from 28awg to 26awg. Importantly, these new larger conductors are used for the cores that send and receive control data as well as those that transfer the audio and video signals. This means the new cables can be guaranteed to deliver their extraordinary performance over even longer lengths. The HDMI plugs are a bespoke, all new and stronger design and the interface between each conductor and the HDMI plug is now ‘laser soldered’ to ensure a perfect connection.
The new improved cables are tested to HDMI specification 1.3 and are certified to a minimum resolution of 8 bit 1080p 60Hz. up to a length of 7m. QED is so confident in the quality of its cables, they all carry a ‘no quibble’ lifetime warranty.
The new Performance HDMI cables are available now in lengths from 0.5m to 20m. All their suggested retail prices are unchanged, with the popular 1m model priced at £50.
